Chicky's Cafe & Bowtique

Be back soon with a couple of yummy recipes…

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the lack of recipes the last few days, it has been a rough week for my family, between my pregnancy, and a major surgery that my dad had to get. Now everything is starting to settle down now and I have couple of yummy recipes to share with everyone soon.

One of them is my favorite marinade for grilled chicken, such great favors that taste so good together.

You can also look forward to many more recipes for the grill as the weather is getting nicer, and my hubby is helping more with the meals as we get closer to the due date of our little man.

Thank you for following along and I can’t wait to share more of family recipes that are delish. :)

Crockpot Garlic Pepper Baked Potatoes

Crockpot Garlic Pepper Baked Potatoes

Baked potatoes are one of my favorite side dishes, and when I found that they could be cooked in the crockpot I was excited to try them.  I then decide to try making them one of my favorite ways by sprinkling with Garlic Salt and Pepper.  My hubby now wants me to try making them with Montreal Steak Seasoning the next time which will also taste good.  The potatoes turned out amazing, and I love that they taste like they were made in the oven.  They are so simple to make and they taste so good.  If you have not yet made baked potatoes in the crockpot definitely give them a try they are so good.

Creamy Italian Pasta Salad

Creamy Italian Pasta Salad

My husband and I have a pasta salad that we get at our local grocery store that we love.  Today I went looking for a recipe that would be similar to what we get there, cause I love being able to make things at home.  I altered the ingredients a bit more to our tastes as the salad that we purchase generally comes with cherry tomatoes in it, but we are not big fans of tomatoes.  I then also added in salami, cause salami is delish and we had it in the house.  This pasta salad is great for grill outs or potlucks.  Definitely give it a try it was so creamy and yummy.

Strawberry Shortcakes

Strawberry Shortcakes

My favorite spring/summer dessert.  Lately when I had been buying strawberries the quality of them was not that great felt like I was throwing away more then I was able to cut up.  This time though I got 3 cartons of strawberries and each carton was a really good batch, so we enjoyed some strawberry shortcakes with dinner lats night.  This recipe is very simple, and instead of using shortcakes I like to use biscuits.  I got the idea of biscuits from a friend.  We went there for dinner and she had the option to have either a shortcake or a biscuit.  Ever since then I have always made them using biscuits.  I prefer the flaky layers kind but any biscuit will work. Yummy, can’t wait to have another one with dinner tonight.  Hope you enjoy them as much as we do they are so tasty and simple.

Easy Cinnamon Rolls (No Yeast Needed)

Easy Cinnamon Rolls (No Yeast Needed)So this was the first time that I have attempted to make cinnamon rolls from scratch and they turned out great!!! :) I found these cinnamon rolls at Iowa Girl Eats.  I love the fact that they did not require any yeast, the only thing was that I needed buttermilk.  Luckily I know how to make buttermilk at home using Milk and Vinegar so no worries there.  At Iowa Girl Eats she makes the cinnamon rolls topped with a cream cheese frosting, I didn’t have any cream cheese in the house so I made a vanilla glaze to go over top of them, and they were yummy.  I will definitely be making these over and over again.  These would be great for the holidays or if you ever have friends over for breakfast.   Read more →

Peach Crumb Cake

Peach Crumb Cake

I came across this recipe while searching on Pinterest and the tag line was ridiculously easy, so I knew I needed to give this a try. I decided to make this peach crumb cake over the weekend for dinner, and it was delicious. This crumb cake was very simple to make, and people would think that you put a lot of time into it with how tasty it is. I love being able to find easy recipes that I can make with things that I already have in the house, and peaches are one of my favorite fruits. This dessert is worth trying as it is very tasty.

Cake Batter Dip

Cake Batter Dip

After all of the girls that I work with were talking about Cake Batter Dip I knew I needed to give it a try, so I asked one of my friends for the recipe. I have found that Cake Batter Dip is amazing and it is so easy to make. I can see this dip being a huge hit at any party and keeps it simple for a dish to serve or bring with you.  The dip can be made with any flavor of cake mix, and includes three ingredients which makes it so simple to make.  Cake Batter Dip reminds me of Dunkaroo’s from when I was a kid which was one of my favorite snacks.   With only three ingredients involved this dip is definitely worth giving a try.  Read more →

Sweet Apple Pork Roast

Sweet Pork Roast

This is a recipe that is from my mother in-law who also an awesome cook.  I remember when we got back from one of our trips to Disney World she made this for us for dinner the night we landed.  It was so tasty, and great to have after a week of out to eat food. I love how thick and flavorful the sauce is, the sauce has a sweet yet tangy flavor to it which is amazing.  The pork roast is very moist as well.  This dish pairs great with the rice that you see here which is called Cumin Rice.  I will be including that recipe soon as it is awesome with the pork roast.  Hope you enjoy this recipe because it is so tasty! :)

Recipe from Mom: Carrots and Apples

Carrots and Apples

This is a recipe I grew up with my mom making.  While it is very simple to make, it sure is tasty and easy to make.  This dish pairs great with Pork Chops, or any other main dish.  We had this with our Easter dinner in which I served ham and our whole family loved it and was asking for the recipe. Definitely give this dish a try when you are looking for a simple side dish to serve with pork chops, or a pork roast you and your family will love it.
