One word for these muffins AMAZING!!!
My daughter loves muffins, and donuts. So when I saw a recipe that combined both I knew I needed to give them a try. These muffins were so tasty, and they were very simple to make. I found these muffins through Mac & Cheese, and adapted them by adding cinnamon and sugar to the top of them rather than just sugar. We will definitely be making these in our house again. The muffins turned out very moist and full of flavor. The cinnamon sugar topping added just right the right amount of sweetness to the rest of the muffin. Give these muffins a try for either Breakfast or just a tasty treat.
Donut Muffins
Adapted from: Mac & Cheese
Serves 12
3/4 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1/4 cup Canola Oil
3/4 cup Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 cup of Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
Topping
1/4 cup of Sugar
1 tsp of Cinnamon
1/2 cup of Butter (Softened)
Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease muffin tins. Now mix together the sugar, and the egg. Add in the oil, milk, and vanilla to the sugar mixture and stir together. Next in a separate bowl add flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg mix together well. Combine the flour and sugar mixture and stir well. Fill muffin cups 3/4 full and bake for 18-20 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. While the muffins are cooking combine the cinnamon and sugar. Once the muffins are done immediately butter the tops, and sprinkle cinnamon & sugar on top. Serve and Enjoy!
